Mainstream porn often promises fantasy but delivers something distant and disconnected from real intimacy. For anyone searching for authentic porn, real pleasure, and content made through the female gaze, the options can seem limited.
Ersties was created to change that. This independent, female-led porn platform centers women’s real desires and has spent more than a decade redefining what ethical porn and inclusive, performer-led adult content can look like.
Instead of scripted scenarios, Ersties focuses on real people, real sex, and natural chemistry. Every scene begins with open conversations about consent and boundaries, and performers have full control over what happens on camera. With shoots run entirely by women, sets feel safe, playful, and rooted in genuine connection rather than performance.
To understand how this approach reshapes adult entertainment, I spoke with Ersties Founder Nina about authenticity, ethical production, the female gaze, and why showing sex as it truly is can be so powerful.

What inspired you to start Ersties, and what gap did you see in mainstream porn?
Nina: “I wanted to create and be part of something different. Mainstream porn always felt very staged to me, too far from real life. I wanted to show the beauty of real sex, something people can actually relate to, see themselves in and maybe even learn from. I also wanted to show the less ‘perfect’ scripted side of porn, where you get to meet the performers and learn about them as people and see what turns them on, also to see them laugh and talk about consent and boundaries.”
What does ‘ethically produced’ adult content mean at Ersties?
Nina: “For us, ‘ethically produced’ means creating a space where everyone feels safe, respected, and fairly paid. When we film with more than one performer, we always have a very detailed discussion about desire and boundaries first and make sure everyone has the freedom to do what feels right for them and to remind them they can stop, say no, or adjust things as they go along. Sometimes performers feel that they have to say yes to something because they’re being paid, but at the end of the day, we’re here to try to make them happy and enjoy themselves.”
Why is featuring authenticity, the female gaze, and women’s pleasure important, and how do you ensure they are reflected in the final edit?

Nina: “We want to show that sex can be beautiful just the way it is, without fake orgasms or fake emotions. Authenticity and real pleasure are what make our videos special. We also wanted to create porn made by women, to counter the narrative that women aren’t interested in porn, or if we are, we only like soft, romantic porn. We made all kinds of porn, from sensual massages to BDSM, because we take the fantasies of so many women and make them a reality. The power that comes from making it by women is that you get to see sex through the female perspective, and often porn is scripted by what men think. Plus we believe that seeing real desire and sensuality from a woman’s eye is so sexy, as it’s something hidden and made to feel shameful, so we love to show that!
“It’s also really special to be on a porn set surrounded by women- it’s a warm, safe, playful space with underwear and snacks everywhere! In our final edits, our main goal is to show each performer as humanly as possible, not just for their body or the sexual act. We film a long interview and share more about their passions and dreams, and why this is their fantasy. That is very important in portraying the authenticity of each shoot.”
How does Ersties porn promote inclusivity and diversity?
Nina: “We work with performers of all kinds and try to show as many different bodies, backgrounds, and personalities as possible. It’s important that people can recognize themselves in what they see and that it feels real and inclusive. We also want to destigmatise all kinds of fetishes and sexual preferences. We loved making the Sex Academy shoot as it featured one male performer who was inexperienced and the other performers taught him everything, which was a nice way to show that you don’t need to be ‘skilled’ and experienced in sex to be a good lover and have a great time. We also show a lot of fetishes from women, such as peeing, or pegging with male partners, which helps everyone feel more comfortable in their sexuality.”
What is your favorite Ersties video or scene?
Nina: “One of my favorite videos is actually an anal scene from the Ersties Sex Academy! I love it because it’s filmed in such a careful and sensual way. There’s so much tenderness and communication between the performers and it really shows that anal sex can be intimate, loving, and beautiful when there’s trust and connection. It breaks a lot of stereotypes and shows another side of sexuality that’s often missing in mainstream porn.”
