For many people, brushing up against the water jets in a pool or hot tub is their first memory of intimate pleasure.
Recreating this sensation, however, isn’t always feasible if all you’re working with at home is a standard bathtub.
That’s why Lovability created the WaterSlyde Aquatic Stimulator—a patented water diverter that attaches to a bathtub faucet and delivers a “hypnotic flow of water” to the middle of the tub.
How to use the Lovability WaterSlyde
As the name suggests, WaterSlyde is shaped like a little plastic water slide.
Using laces to tie and keep it in place, the mini water slide attaches directly to the base of your bathtub’s faucet spout.
When you turn on the faucet, the water runs down the diverter and “delivers a strong flow of water to the midline of the tub—right where it counts,” Lovability co-founder John Paul Basile told Sex For Every Body.
You control the speed, pressure, or temperature of the water using your standard faucet controls. There’s no tech or batteries and once you find a rhythm you like, the experience is hands-free.
Because the only thing that touches your body is the water from your faucet, Lovability describes the experience as gentle, natural, and hygienic.

Made with body-safe, recyclable materials
Lovability’s WaterSlyde is made from a solid plastic form of medical-grade polystyrene. It’s a durable, body-safe material commonly used in medical device applications and food containers.
The material is also recyclable and the Lovability FAQ page states that they’ll recycle it for you if your local municipality doesn’t accept that type of plastic.

Who WaterSlyde is for
The concept for WaterSlyde was conceived by Maureen Pollack, Basile’s partner, and designed for people with vulvas in mind. However, Lovability explicitly states that it can be used by “anyone and everyone that enjoys water play or is looking to try something new.”
Rainey Horwitz, a medical student and sex-positive health educator, recently reviewed the hands-free WaterSlyde on her YouTube channel. In her review, she discusses how Lovability’s WaterSlyde is accessible to those with mobility or dexterity issues or who need assisted hygiene.
Horwitz also mentions other demographics who could benefit from this type of product, including trauma survivors and the Orthodox Jewish community.

Considerations to make before purchasing
Before going out to get your own WaterSlyde, it’s important to factor in the water consumption necessary to use the product. Think about your existing water usage, how long you typically prefer to masturbate, the cost of your water bill, personal ethics or anything else that might make you hesitant or uncomfortable.
The Lovability website also mentions that the WaterSlyde can be used both solo or with a partner. If you plan to use it with a partner, you may want to consider the logistics of your situation beforehand (potential positions, size of your tub, comfort, etc).
Lastly, if you have any health-related concerns about using the WaterSlyde, it’s recommended to consult your doctor first.
Available online and in select stores
The WaterSlyde comes in four colors (pink, blue, purple, and black) and retails for $35 USD on the Lovability website.
Alternatively, if you’re in Canada or the United States, you can check out their Store Finder page to see if there’s a physical store selling Lovability products near you.
The black version of the Lovability WaterSlyde diverter is called Eco Ebony. This more eco-friendly sex toy is made from 100% recycled plastic and is shipped “package-free” to minimize material waste.
