Creators of the material NeoSilicone™ call it the first silicone compound safe to use with silicone-based personal lubricants.

Don’t mix silicone sex toys with silicone-based personal lubricants, sex educators have warned consumers for decades.

This lube type, popular for its silky texture and use during anal sex, will break down the exterior of all silicone sex toys. That is, until now, thanks to the release of a new type of silicone material developed by sustainable sextech company Love Not War.

NeoSilicone™ was adapted from existing materials used in the aerospace industry after two years of research and development. Exclusive to UK-based Love Not War, the brand says it will transition its full range of modular silicone sex toy parts to be made from this material.

“One of the many benefits of having your own manufacturing facilities, like we do, is that we have had the freedom to experiment and do very focused R&D, which enabled us to make this breakthrough,” said Love Not War Co-founder and CEO Will Ranscombe.

“The principle for NeoSilicone™ already existed in the aerospace industry where there is a crucial need for the highest quality lubricants to be used alongside very strong and very durable materials. We took this principle and adapted it for sex toy use.”

Recycling the new silicone sex toys

Love Not War’s line of sex toys all use the same aluminum battery base, named “Power of Love,” that can be attached to different aluminum and silicone head shapes.

This modular design makes the different vibrator components easier to mix and match, as well as recycle, repair, and replace.

In fact, the eco-friendly sex toy company prides itself on its “Repair and Recycle” program, which will remain the same with the launch of NeoSilicone™.

“It was important to us that the new silicone compound was able to be processed in the same way as our old compound,” Ranscombe told SexForEveryBody.com.

“Sustainability is built into the business at Love Not War, and we are committed to our original promises. That means if a customer’s product develops some kind of fault, we’ll try to fix it. If we can’t we’ll recycle it and offer a replacement.”

The company is understandably keeping tight-lipped on explaining how its NeoSilicone™ won’t degrade when used with silicone-based lubricants—unlike other silicone sex toys.

“While we have a commitment to transparency and we want our customers to know exactly which materials are going to be in contact with your body, we are also a little hesitant to reveal the actual formula behind NeoSilicone™ quite simply because as a brand, we need to protect our innovations and intellectual property in order to maintain an advantage over our competitors and the bigger brands in our industry,” Ranscombe told SexForEveryBody.com.

“We are a truly independent business with no external investment and by maintaining a competitive edge, like NeoSilicone™, and maintaining some discretion over the compound, we can continue innovating into the future,” he added.

“What I can say is that our new NeoSilicone™ heads have gone through rigorous testing, far beyond what is deemed necessary in the industry, to ensure that they are completely safe for use while still maintaining the same premium feel that our customers have grown to love.”

Uberlube President Stephen Magnusen, who heads up a company well-known for its popular line of silicone-based lubricants, backs the new material from Love Not War.

“It’s not often we have industry advancements like these, but Love Not War is proving to be an impressive innovator, able to fast realize ideas like total supply chain sustainability and complex solutions like this amazing silicone compatibility.”
