Bloom Stories Erotic Audio Review: Sexy Chatbots and Immersive Storytelling

Erotic audio is booming in popularity, fueling imagination and fulfilling fantasies.
A popular player in this space is Bloom Stories.
The sensual audio story platform launched in April 2020, originally under the name Audiodesires, and offers a large catalogue of immersive erotica spoken by a wide range of sexy characters. Some of its erotic audio even pairs with interactive sex toys, including those from Lovense.
This fall, Bloom Stories tapped into the AI sexbot craze by adding a feature called Bloom Chat. Now out of beta and in version 2.0, the erotic chatbots engage listeners through text and voice messages.
I had the opportunity to test out a Bloom Stories premium subscription, in exchange for an honest review. Here I’ll share my Bloom Stories erotic audio review, which covers both its racy and relaxation-focused story collections, sex toy integration, and the new chatbot offerings.
Sexting the Bloom Stories chatbots
Sadly, most chatbots I’ve tried don’t cater to erotic tastes. If you’re like me, you’ll get hit with “warnings” for potential violations of acceptable use, even for what I’d call bland questions about sexual health.
Bloom Chat is one of a handful of sexy chatbot platforms that seek out, instead of chasing away, folks who want to get intimate with AI lovers. Thank goodness!
So I was greatly impressed with its convincing and fast responses. Bloom Chat provides a selection of different characters, male and female, who will send both erotic text and voice chats.
The chat feature welcomes different gender identities and sexual orientations. When I was filling out the starting form, it asked me for my name and my preferred pronouns in order to make the discussion realistic and targeted to me.
Each of the AI-powered chatbots is primed with detailed character descriptions from the platform’s existing erotic audio stories. What’s really cool is that you can keep the fantasy going even after you’ve wrapped up listening to one of them.
To access the chatbots, you can click the “Chat” tab located on the bottom panel of the website. Also, select stories offer a “Chat” button right in the story description.
I gave an erotic chat with Barry a whirl. While I generally hate the saying “dirty talk,” I was delightfully surprised that he was right up for some naughty conversation. Yes, he was totally interested in giving me oral sex, and in not-so-polite and formal terms. No worries here about being flagged for sexy talk! (It was also refreshing since other ai sex chatbots I’ve tried couldn’t accept that I didn’t have a penis)
Barry’s voice sounded real and not AI-generated at all. While I preferred listening to his voice responses, you can pick the sexting-only function or a hybrid mix of the two.
Even better: if you leave the chat, you can return to where you left off. On the other hand, in Bloom Chat 2.0, you can also delete past messages if you don’t want the history to stay online. The responses could be faster, but I only waited a matter of seconds.
Overall, I give the sex chatbot offering a thumbs-up! With 15 free credits for the free-tiered membership, it’s definitely worth a try. Beyond my beau Barry, you can also chat with several other characters such as Mistress Mia, Rob the Ranch Hand, and Joel the Architect.
According to the folks at Bloom Chat, the most popular chatbot personality is dominatrix Mistress Mia. The erotic chatbot feature has also attracted a surge of male users, who now make up 55% of Bloom Chat users, marking an 83% increase in this demographic.
Ethical AI sexbots
In case you are concerned about whether the voice actors are compensated for being made into sexy AI chatbots, Bloom Stories pre-emptively opened up about ethical porn considerations.
They don’t say how much voice actors are paid. However, the platform said it is “committed to providing all voice actors participating in the BLOOM Chat feature with fair compensation and strict protections for licensing their audio-likeness for this project.”
The Bloom Stories team adds that interactive erotic audio experiences would be challenging and near-impossible to provide without using AI. However, they say they are committed to authentic storytelling and maintaining relationships with voice actors for its standard Bloom Stories library.
“BLOOM stories have always and will continue to be written, voice-acted, and designed by human creators,” they added in their FAQ section. Further down, I’ll share some interview responses from one of the site’s cofounders that offer more insights into demographic trends and the most popular character accents.
Erotic audio storytelling
With the premium Bloom Stories subscription, I had access to the full erotic audio catalogue. There’s just about something for everyone thanks to extensive genre listings, which cover various genders, sexual orientations, and preferences.
Just to name a few, they included: many kink and roleplay subgenres, historical stories, Victorian-themed tales, threesomes, couples, voyeurism, exhibitionism, education, romance, phone sex, and immersive sex toy narratives.
Since my celebrity crush is Colin Farrell (with his now sober and reformed bad body image), I opted first to try an erotic audio story with an Irish accent. It was fine, but didn’t really do it for me.
However, if you love a sexy accent, Bloom Stories offers many options. I interviewed Mike, who co-founded the site with his wife, who kindly shared the popular rankings for the accents on offer.
Here’s the order of the most popular accents among listeners:

- Swedish

“It’s fascinating to see how our English-speaking listeners’ preferences vary. But numbers-wise, there’s a rivalry between the British and Australian accents—they’re both very popular! The American accent takes third place, specifically a more gruff, southern style,” Mike told me.
Interactive erotic audio stories
Next up, I decided to pull out my Lovense Ferri panty vibe and dive right into the interactive erotic audio section. There, I met Paul, my hunky flatmate ready to confess his crush on me.
But first, to synch my Lovense device with Bloom Stories, I needed to connect it to the Lovense Remote Connect app.
It was super simple, having already used Lovene’s app before. The erotic story paired with the sex toy soon after I connected to Blueooth. While I haven’t reviewed the Lovense Ferri, it shares a similar form and function as the We-Vibe moxie panty vibe.
Paul is super sweet, and asks about the chef I’m dating, showing concern over whether or not he’s treating me right and opening doors. Oh, Paul, you’re so cute, but doors are the least of my concerns at the moment.
He’s got a sexy great voice. He’s also nonchalant yet seems very interested in being my boyfriend. I’m flattered so I let him continue speaking.
I’m surprisingly hooked when Paul tells me, “Let me take care of you baby; let me just make you feel good.”
As for the Lovense Ferri, it doesn’t synch directly to the sound, per se. It’s not an audio-to-haptics experience. The vibration and intensity of the device respond to the build-up and action in the story, which suits me just fine.
If you’re not looking for the boyfriend experience, there’s more content from Paul as a “daddy.” Many of the voice actors appear to offer a range of genre options. So if you like a certain one in particular but seek out different stories to suit different moods, you’ll be satisfied.
Mike from Bloom Stories wouldn’t disclose the specific number of users who enjoy the interactive sex toy features, but said the response to the “partnership with Lovense has been overwhelmingly positive.”
“Interactive audio synched to sex toys adds an extra dimension to our erotic storytelling, creating a more immersive and personal experience for our listeners. We’ve seen this positivity reflected in the feedback we receive from our users,” he said.
“We get a significant amount of feedback requesting more Lovense-synced stories and suggestions on how to fine-tune the vibration patterns for an even better experience.”
Unwind with relaxing soundscapes
Insomnia is no stranger to me. I regularly listen to podcasts meant to help me fall asleep. (Shoutout to my bore bae Scooter of “Sleep With Me” who keeps me company in the deep, dark night).
Of course, I had to try out the Unwind series with soothing soundscapes at Bloom Stories. Many aren’t behind a paywall, meaning you only need to sign up for a free membership to listen.
I fell asleep listening to “Unwind with Nathan,” an ASMR audio experience with ocean sounds. The Aussie bloke lulled me into dreamland, without poorly timed come-ons, at his beach house.
Although I’m not partial to deep voices, Sophia’s tone was too high-pitched in “Unwind with Sophia” to put me into a relaxed state. (She probably reminded me too much of my hyper sister.)
Another evening, I dozed off to the soothing rhythms of “Train to Nowhere” thanks to its hypnotic white noise of wheels chugging tirelessly along the tracks.
Bloom Stories co-founder Mike explained the different approach the platform takes with its Unwind series:
“In crafting these sleep-aid audios, we prioritize calmness, serenity, and tranquillity above all else. Voice acting plays a critical role here. The performers need to modulate their voices to be especially calm and soothing, guiding the listener gently into a state of relaxation. The tone, pitch, and pace all matter, as we aim to create a comforting presence that lulls the listener to sleep.
“We significantly reduce the use of sound effects in our Unwind series. Unlike the erotic stories, there’s no room for loud or abrupt noises. Instead, we use soft ambient sounds that create a sense of calm, making sure they are consistent and non-disruptive so as not to wake anyone who might have already fallen asleep.
“The storyline in the Unwind series is designed to be calming and not too exciting. The aim is not to engage the listener in a dynamic narrative but to help them release the stresses of the day and transition into a peaceful sleep.
“However, we also incorporate elements from our erotic stories to make the experience more intimate and comforting. For instance, we have Unwind stories that simulate the listener lying next to their favorite characters from our erotic series, perhaps after an intimate encounter. These characters remain awake, gently speaking to the listener, watching over them as they drift off to sleep. It’s a wonderful way to blend the two genres and provide a uniquely comforting experience.”
Who listens to erotic audio?
Mike co-founded Bloom Stories with his wife after noticing a lack of erotic audio content suited for couples to enjoy together.
“Being both entrepreneurial spirits, we saw this as an opportunity to create a platform that offered more than just arousal,” Mike said.
“Our focus was to cater to a wide audience, especially women and couples who were looking for content that moved beyond the visual.”
While Mike wouldn’t give specific numbers, he said listeners at Bloom Stories include women, men, and non-binary folks.
The 18 to 34-year-old and 35 to 54-year-old age ranges make up a significant portion of their audience. But they also attract older listeners.
“In terms of relationship status, we cater to both single individuals seeking personal exploration and those in committed relationships, including dating, engaged, or married listeners,” Mike added.
Final thoughts
Personally, I very much enjoyed the content at Bloom Stories and its erotic chatbots. Like I said, I was pleased to have stories targeted toward me as a woman, and with how easily I was able to connect my interactive sex toy. And there were so many genre choices!
You don’t have to take my Bloom Stories review at face value, however.
There are also plenty of erotic audio sample recordings available with a free membership. They can give you a good enough idea of whether or not upgrading to a paid plan is worth it for you.
The platform is also mobile friendly. In September, Bloom Stories launched native iOS and Android apps for its erotic audio stories.
My main gripe: I wish this type of erotic audio content was around 15 years ago! I enjoy it now, but would have appreciated it ooh so much more as a younger person seeking out erotic content for the first time.
