  • A ‘Pleasurable’ new rebrand

In 2016, Caz Killjoy and Amber DiPietra founded the Disability and Sexuality Access Network (DASAN) with the goal of sharing disability-focused sex education with educators and people with disabilities.

This April, the organization gave itself a welcome rebrand as Pleasurable. Its lighter tone and suggestive new logo artwork are in line with the group’s goal of making sex education more accessible.

In a Tweet, the group thanked artist Matt Heft of Silc Arts, who modeled the “P” in the new logo after the Silc Touch, a curved Vac-u-lock sex toy handle.

“This ergo handle comes with a hand-poured dildo in custom colors. It is great for folx who have dexterity impairments,” added Pleasurable.

  • MYHIXEL Academy aims to improve sexual literacy and pleasure

“The MYHIXEL Academy’s inaugural course is centered around premature ejaculation and climax control, topics that MYHIXEL’s audience care deeply about. While one in three men has experienced issues with premature ejaculation, only 10% have consulted a specialist due to embarrassment, stigma, and lack of awareness about solutions beyond short-term medications.

“Contrary to popular belief, the causes of premature ejaculation are as much psychological as they are physical — the MYHIXEL Academy offers insight through videos, podcasts and animations, about sexual conditions and how to deal with them, psychology, nutrition and training plans, couples therapy, and much more. The next two courses to follow will focus on two related topics —delayed ejaculation and erectile dysfunction.”

  • Confidence and acceptance are key to improving sex after 40 for women, survey shows

According to an online survey of American women between the ages of 40 and 60, accepting the natural changes in their bodes was most commonly cited as the most important factor in having better sex after 40—60% in total.

Of the random online sample of 400 women, 58% said letting their needs be known during sex was important, along with 54% citing confidence as a key component of good sex.

The survey included a random sample of 400 women and was carried out by the Scarlet Society, an online shop and blog dedicated to sexual wellness for women over 40.

“‘We have, for a very long time, focused on sexuality as something to do with youth and it’s just not true and not helpful,’ says psychosexual therapist, Kate Moyle. It is also changing: a recent piece in the New York Times said that sex experts predict that ‘as baby boomers, who grew up during the sexual revolution of the 1960s and 1970s, age—the oldest are about 75—they will demand more open conversations and policies related to their sex lives.’

“‘Desire,’ says Moyle, ‘is something that we can have across the lifetime. What we might see is that there is an interruption in the way that arousal used to previously function, the body’s physical ability; but we can adapt.’”
