Sometimes, less really is more. Read on for our Lovabilty WaterSlyde review.

Earlier this year, Lovability released the WaterSlyde Aquatic Stimulator, a patented water diverter designed to make bathtub masturbating more accessible.

Within months, the product went viral on TikTok, with one video racking up nearly 3 million likes and over 34 million views on the #WaterSlyde hashtag

After covering Lovability WaterSlyde’s release and how it works theoretically for Sex For Every Body, Lovability offered to send my color of choice in exchange for an honest review.

The promise of avoiding what Lovability describes as “bathtub yoga” was tempting. Plus, I’ve always loved masturbating in the bath, so how could I say no? Below is my full Lovability WaterSlyde review.

The WaterSlyde by Lovability

The faucet accessory is made from a solid plastic form of medical-grade polystyrene. According to the Lovability FAQ page, this material is durable, body-safe, and even recyclable. The material for the tie isn’t listed, but it feels similar to a ribbon you’d use for gift wrapping.

The Lovability WaterSlyde comes in three colors: Pink, blue, and purple (I chose purple).

Measurements

While the product page provides basic measurements, I wanted to include more specifics so you can check and see if the Lovability WaterSlyde will fit your existing setup.

  • Width: 5.5 cm (2.17 inches)
  • Full length: 39.5 cm (15.55 inches)
  • Base length: 8 cm (3.15 inches)
  • Curved bit length: 31 cm (12.20 inches)
  • Height: ~16 cm (~6.30 inches)

This diverter was larger than I expected. It makes sense, given its purpose, but it wasn’t convenient to travel with, and I’d imagine it isn’t easy to find somewhere discreet to store it.

Accessible design intended for people with vulvas

Although Lovability explicitly states that it can be used by “anyone and everyone,” the WaterSlyde was initially intended for people with vulvas.

It was also designed to be a hands-free experience accessible for people with mobility or dexterity issues or who need assisted hygiene. Other people Lovability says may benefit from the WaterSlyde are moms who’ve recently given birth or women struggling to experience pleasure during sex due to trauma or painful intercourse.

For this review, it’s important to note that I’m an able-bodied, cis-gender vulva-haver, so I can’t speak to how well the WaterSlyde works for these cases.

Lovability WaterSlyde really works as expected

I had never used a sex toy like this before, so I was skeptical that the WaterSlyde would deliver the sensations it promised. However, once I was able to set it up, I was pleasantly surprised.

Attaching the Lovability WaterSlyde to your faucet can be difficult

Everything you read about the WaterSlyde says something like, “Just tie it on, turn on the faucet, and go”—but I ran into issues securing the diverter to my faucet.

First, the provided fascinator is just a ribbon and doesn’t offer much grip. At the same time, the WaterSlyde’s material isn’t flexible and doesn’t ‘clip’ to the faucet, so it relies entirely on your ability to tie the ribbon tightly.

In the end, I asked my partner to hold the WaterSlyde in place while I tied the ribbon.

Once we got the toy attached, though, it remained in place pretty well. However, the ribbon does loosen over time, so you may need to retie it during longer or higher-pressure sessions.

If you can operate your bathtub, you can use Lovability WaterSlyde

You control the water’s speed, pressure, and temperature using your standard faucet controls—no batteries to charge, cables to keep track of, or intricate settings.

In my opinion, this is a considerable advantage and reflects the company’s accessibility-first approach.

Another related perk was being able to experiment with temperature.

Typically, you’d need to do some preparation to heat up or cool down a sex toy or have multiple toys with varying temperatures. With the Lovability WaterSlyde, you can switch temperatures within the same session (assuming your plumbing allows it).

What I experienced

Gentler sensation than a showerhead

One of the reviews on the website reads, “The build-up [of pleasure] was also of a deeper more gentle nature compared to certain vibrators… As for comparing to a shower head, a steady flow of water is wayyy more pleasurable in my opinion!”

I’d agree. While I love my shower head, the sensations were smoother and slower building. The Lovability WaterSlyde also provides one heavier flow of water compared to several smaller streams that typically come from a showerhead.

Couldn’t fill up the bathtub too high

To get the full LovabilityWaterSlyde experience, you must ensure that the water directly hits your body. This means keeping the total water level very low or propping your body up to meet the stream. I didn’t think about this before trying the first time, so I filled the water too high, didn’t feel much, and drained most of the water again.

One of my favorite parts of masturbating in the bath is that it’s warm and immersive, so I missed this while using the Lovability WaterSlyde. That said, I thought I would have more ethical qualms continuously running the water, but I usually ran the water for about the same time I would have to fill the bathtub as usual.

Make sure to check your faucet beforehand

My top advice for anyone purchasing a Lovability WaterSlyde is to check your faucet against the product measurements

Verifying the measurements is essential for attaching the diverter to your faucet (especially as the material isn’t flexible) and evaluating where the water will flow in the bath. If you can’t sit comfortably and enjoy it, you may want to reconsider.

Overall: Low cost for high effect (if the product fits)

The Lovability WaterSlyde retails for $35 USD on the Lovability website, which is great value for the cost if the product fits your faucet.

Lovability currently ships products to the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Sweden (I tested the product while traveling in North America).

The company’s FAQ page says, “we’re in the progress of re-imagining our international strategy by developing relationships with local retailers and regional distributors.”

I’m cautiously optimistic, but I believe it may take actual product adjustments before doing a worldwide roll-out.
